Our History
The Trillium Foundation was created after the sale of the assets of My Choice Wisconsin. Proceeds from the sale support the Foundation’s operations and grantmaking.
The Trillium Name

The Trillium Foundation takes its name from the three-petaled, three-leafed wildflowers that bloom early in the spring in Wisconsin. Trilliums grow slowly, sometimes taking five to nine years to bloom. This small flower thrives through the work of ants, which help spread its seeds, and through underground rootstocks that enable it to survive harsh conditions.
Taking inspiration from its namesake, the Trillium Foundation seeks to create positive change and lasting opportunities for individuals and communities in Wisconsin by working collaboratively with others and helping to establish strong networks of support.
